Our level two chimney inspections are a great addition to a home inspection when the home has a wood burning fireplace or gas logs. A level two inspects the internals of the chimney that cannot be seen in a basic visual inspection of the top and fire box. We inspect chimneys using a camera system that turns 360 degrees as it ascends the flue allowing us to look for any cracks, missing mortar or other issues that could cause carbon monoxide and smoke to enter your home.
All our inspectors are certified through ChimneyScan through United Infrared to perform level two chimney inspections.
We constantly see unsafe flues. Most chimneys in this area are clay lined and over time the clay can crack and the mortar can overheat and become damaged causing the chimney to be unsafe to use.
If chimneys are used yearly they should be inspected yearly especially with a clay liner!
Whether you’re purchasing a home, preparing to sell, or need specialized inspections, Ace Home Inspections is here to help ensure your property is safe, stable, and valuable.
