Indoor air quality testing is an excellent option to go hand in hand with a mold assessment. If we suspect mold but can’t see mold this could be an option to see if there is hidden mold behind finished walls! Also indoor air quality testing can be used if a buyer or homeowner has a specific allergy to mold that we can test for to see if there is any trace of it in the home.
An assessment must be completed to do air quality sampling so if this is chosen as a stand alone service it would be an add on to a mold assessment.
Our air quality sampling is done with sealed units that then are overnighted to our lab with 24 hour turnaround time on business days.
We have to collect a minimum of two samples. One sample is the control and must be taken outside the home. It is recommended to take one sample per 1000 sq feet per level. So a 2000 square foot ranch with a basement it would be recommended to take one sample in the basement and one on the first floor. This allows us to isolate where the mold is and how far it has penetrated into the home.
Samples are overnighted to the lab the same day as the testing and our lab has a 24 hour business day turnaround. So samples that are taken Friday we would have results Monday.
